A bit scary
9/30-10/1
Pushed out of Monterey Bay at 1:30. Weather was perfect. Sunny
and clear. Headed west for an hour then took a left for Morro
Bay. Kevin put our new Hydrovane to work. It was a God send.
She worked like a champ. Sailed all day and night. The winds
started howling. Gusts up to 35, with 25 being the norm.
The swells were an average of 8 to 10 feet hitting us on the beam
and stern. It was a wicked ride. 19 hours later we made it to
Morro Bay. Docked at the yacht club and went to bed!
Met up later with Spruce, Charrell and Sundance for a brew
and dinner. Along with comparing stories. We
Broke our lazy jacks and have a small hole in the main.
Sundance broke their auto pilot. What an adventure.
